The Teen Zone is designed especially for patients aged between 12 and 18

to help you understand how to access advice and healthcare about anything you might be worried about - you can even send us a question online, and one of our nurses will send you a reply.

How can I get help or advice at CGMG?

  • Make an appointment to see one of the Doctors or Nurses - you can bring a friend, or your parent / guardian, or you can come on your own
  • You can submit us an email question via our forum and one of our nurses will reply
  • Read the information or watch the videos available in the Teen Zone

Is the service confidential?

Even if you are under 16 you still have the same rights to confidentiality as anyone else.

Our doctors and nurses have to follow very strict rules on confidentiality and the law says we have to keep all patient records and information completely private.

In exceptional circumstances, for example when a doctor or nurse thinks you might be in serious danger, it might be necessary to pass information on but, even if we do, we will usually talk to you first before we tell anyone else. This applies to everyone, no matter what age you are.

You can read our Privacy Notice for Children here - this tells you a little more about your medical records and the information we keep about you.
